The mental dimension is defined by “the ability to think clearly, reason objective, analyze
critically, and use brain power effectively to meet life’s challenges. It includes learning from successes and failures and making responsible decisions” (Donatelle& Thompson.2011, p.4) I scored a 26/40 on my mental questionnaire. Mental health is important because it allows you to learn from your mistakes and build on your successes. I believe I have a good mental health because I do learn from my own mistakes, but I sometimes let my acts get to the best of me without thinking. There have been times where I have found myself saying things, where I later on start to regret what I had said to that person. This is definitely one area that I need to work on. Another weakness I have is I need to learn how to manage my time well, instead of vice versa. For instance in grade 12 there was a time where I didn’t manage my time when it came to finishing an assignment that I stayed up all night finishing it, and only had 3 hours of sleep. From that say on I have tried to manage my time better so that doesn’t happen again. My goal is to learn how to manage my time, instead of time managing me. One of my strengths would have to be I sometimes consider the alternatives before making decisions. For instance one alternative I did before making my decision was this year, when it was prom week, I had to go buy a dress. It turned out on the same day I was going dress shopping, I had also won Blue Jay tickets. At first when I went dress shopping I thought I was going to make it on time for the game but it turned out that dress shopping took longer then I excepted, and I had to choose either between finding a dress for prom or going to the Blue Jays game. I ended up telling my self that I’ll get my chance on day to watch the Blue Jays play |
