During the course of a week Paul tends to get a decent amount of exercise a week. In the summer he plays baseball for 3 hours a week as well as practice for 2 hours. He tries to jog for 30 minutes at least 2 times a week which brings him to 6 hours. But come winter time those activities such as baseball and jogging outdoors diminish due to cold weather. During the winter months he tries to jog 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes in addition to minor yard landscaping. In total in a week for winter it would be approximately 2 ½ hours a week. When Paul jogs he starts slow to get his heart rate going then increase speed as he wants to hit his peak heart rate and work his muscles to their maximum potential. He then proceed to doing a slower cool down to reduce any lactic acid build up.
Comparing my activity standards to that of the Activity guide, it recommends you get 2 ½ hours of moderate to vigorous activity a week. During the summer months he surpass that by 4 ½ hours so Paul has no activity issues in the summer month. He loves being active and keeping fit. His body feels good which makes his mental and emotional state positive as well. During the winter months he meets the requirement right on at 2 ½ hours. He stays fit through the whole year because its something he does to burn off energy and keep in shape. Paul's areas of strength are Cardio and Repertory strengths. He has a good heart and he has a system in which enables him to endure in long runs and have good twitch fibres. Areas where Paul can improve is physical strength. Since he is weaker because he has a weaker frame, he needs to bulk up by overloading calories then working it out into muscle. |
